"My Mummys Dead" finde ich auch nicht schlecht! Ein englisches Kinderlied, dem er seinen traurauraurigen Text zugesetzt hatte. Nicht schmalzig, absolut gefühlsidentisch.

Dem pflichte ich bei. Es passt thematisch zu "God", aber insgesamt nicht in das Urschrei-Konzept hinein. Und stilistisch ist SY auch anders.

"Serve Yourself" war schon als akustisches Demo ein aggressiver Song, in dem sich Lennon mit der christlichen Bekehrung von Bob Dylan auseinandersetzt.Dylan brachte 1979 ein Album heraus, was allen vorigen Werken widersprach und christliche Themen behandelte.Das bekannte Stück "Serve Somebody" wurde von Lennon parodiert und er nannte es "Serve Yourself".
Wenn Lennon das Stück im Studio elektrisch hätte vollenden können, wäre daraus sicher sowas wie "Cold Turkey" oder "Well Well Well" geworden.

Und mit einer Botschaft, die alle betrifft: Er hatte nicht nur die christliche Entsinnung des eigenen Ego auf dem Schrirm, sondern die Ent-Sinnung durch alle Religionen. "You say, you found Muhammad... - "You say, you found Buddha... " usw.
Es wäre ein R I E S E N hit geworden.
