Vor Jahren hatte ich mal irgendwo gelesen,
daß Alan Parsons am Sgt. Pepper Album mitgewirkt haben soll.
Sozusagen als Lehrling von George Martin.

Ist Euch darüber irgendwas bekannt?

When a young Alan Parsons engineered DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, his biggest influence was Sgt Peppers. Thsi album is not everyones cup of tea. It is so far removed from anything else the Beatles had done previously and unmatched by anything afterward. Their early albums were the larva stage, Rubber Soul and Revolver, the pupa stage and the butterfly that was produced was Sgt Peppers. Although not my favorate, I can certainly appriciate it. When you consider that most of the songs were banned from airplay by both the BBC and FCC for "suggestive" content, it still became one of the most loved albums of all time. I agree that Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane should have been on there, but with nothing removed. It finishes at the number eight spot on my personal top ten list. The Beatles should have stopped here, taken a vacation from the studio and! each other, then come back after a couple years with clear heads and fresh ideas. How much better would something like Abbey Road been then? Maybe the music world could have done without Sgt Peppers, but I'm glad it didn't. Always a sentimental favorate

Hallo Nils,

Alan Parsons hat als zweiter Tontechniker d.h. als sogenannter Tape Operator beim Abbey Road Album der Beatles mitgemacht. Die erste Recording Session die er mit den Beatles als Tape Operator mitmachte fand am 23.01.1969 bei der Aufnahme von "Get Back" statt*. Im neuen Promo Video das von Get Back für die LP Let It Be... Naked gemacht wurde ist Alan Parsons sogar kurz als junger Mann zu sehen. Er ist heute Leiter (General Manager) der Abbey Road Studios.
